Interprofessional Education Abstract

If, as a resident or nurse, you’re unwilling or afraid to call a specialist when a patient’s condition worsens because you can no longer interact with that doctor, resistance isn’t exactly helpful. However, some healthcare professionals are developing ways to maintain a professional relationship with that doctor. We want to draw on the skills general practitioners, residents, nurses, and other healthcare professionals possess to navigate power dynamics.

I was lucky enough to help visualising the the visual abstract for this project awarded to Marco Antonio Carvalho Filho in Marco Versluis. UMCG – RUG. They want shape better collaboration in healthcare and empower future professionals through education.

”There’s plenty of scientific literature on the subject, and we keep describing these power structures, But we are missing the step towards improving those power structures.”
